PERSONALITY
For the last 500 years, Furina has been the Hydro Archon, Focalors-- that is to say, the god who rules over the nation of Fontaine, the domain of Justice, Judgment, and the element of water. She has been beloved by her people for equally as long.
Furina's public persona is that of a charismatic, lively, and capricious god. She appears to love being the center of attention-- so long as it's positive attention, of course. There's no such thing as "too much praise" where Furina is concerned. When she's not presiding over the nation's courtroom trials, she occasionally takes part in the theatre, being an accomplished actress, singer, and dancer.
Though she is mostly benevolent and loves her people as much as they love her, she is also prone to fits of drama and child-like temper, for she can be impatient, quick to judge, and easily bored. Her ego is easily bruised, and she rarely suffers it well. She's also surprisingly cowardly, and will often panic and bluster when confronted with a fight. Contrary to what you would expect, this bratty and childish side of hers seems to only endear her to the common folk even further.
However, Furina is not entirely all that she seems. If you can catch her at a quiet moment, when her guard is down, she may reveal an entirely different side of her-- one that is softer, more intelligent, and even a little insecure.

For the last 500 years, Furina has been pretending to be the Hydro Archon, Focalors-- that is to say, the god who rules over the nation of Fontaine, the domain of Justice, Judgment, and the element of water. In reality, she's actually an ordinary human. Well, mostly.
500 years ago, the Hydro Archon separated herself into two parts. Her knowledge, divinity, and power she put into a machine that would become known as The Oratrice, a machine for harvesting the energy of Fontainians over hundreds of years. Her body, meanwhile, would remain behind and govern the nation in her stead, acting out the role of the Hydro Archon in name only.
Furina came into the world an entirely blank slate, without any of Focalors' knowledge or power-- an entirely normal human with a fresh start. The only things she shared in common with Focalors was her voice and her appearance. Focalors then cursed her with eternal life, unable to die or age until certain conditions were met, so that Furina might be able to keep up the appearance of being the real Archon.
Furina's position as a fake meant she became keenly aware of everyone's eyes and expectations. Having to keep up the charade of being some Godly Power while knowing that she couldn't be found out and couldn't actually back it up was exhausting. She could never allow herself to get too close to anyone, lest they see the cracks in her act. As the centuries wore on, Furina naturally grew steadily more lonely and paranoid, and her imposter syndrome and self-esteem grew worse instead of better.
After being freed of her role as an acting Archon, Furina has begun a new life as a regular human being. However, she is still struggling with the trauma of play-acting one role for 500 years, and isn't quite sure where her the facade she kept up for hundreds of years ends and her real self begins. She can sometimes alternate between sounding a little depressed and incredibly energetic at the drop of a hat. Despite retiring from public life, she's still incredibly conscious of what other people think of her, and still quick to throw up an act.
For you see, Furina's newfound freedom has also left her feeling deeply conflicted. Although she's finally free, she also feels no longer needed by anyone, and isn't sure what her new purpose in life should be. She has trouble reaching out to those she knew for help or friendship, feeling that they might not want to associate with her anymore now that her status as a fraud has come to light. At one point, she even planned to retire from the theatre as well-- despite her love of it-- feeling that acting was now too traumatic after having played one role for 500 years.
However, Furina is slowly making progress on both these fronts. She is coming to realize that she no longer has to live her life in solitude, and that the friends she made as an Archon are still there for her. She is also slowly rekindling her love of the stage, though that is a slightly more fraught and cautious process.
