We're in the same boat! I've never been to one of those before this year, too. And...I mean, despite everything that happened? It was a great time.

Yeah. Once all this is over, I'm sure there'll be a couple of other festivals to hit up. Definitely by Halloween.

What classes are you planning on taking for your first semester?

Mm, probably just gen ed classes. I'm hoping to get approved for a change in my major by next semester.

That's really cool, though! Did you learn anything interesting? How was calligraphy?

I learned a lot of interesting things, that's one of the fun parts about doing gen-ed.

And I was terrible at it, but it was a good chance to practice writing, since I was starting to forget it, and I'd never gotten much practice anyway.

Judging by how Bolin talks about it, I don't think he enjoyed them as much as I did.

Oh, so it was Chinese calligraphy? That's pretty cool. I mean, I could practice writing with you if you wanted since kanji's similar to Chinese characters?

To an extent, yeah. But like you, I never really had much of an opportunity to practice it, so I'm super rusty.

There's a local paper in Mandarin. I picked it up a lot when I was a kid and just struggled through it.

It was probably one of the better distractions I had.
