He followed her inside, and his eyes immediately started tracking all of the books... He wasn't sure where to start...]

Thought so.

[now, to start looking for something to write with, and something to write in.

[Korra shakes her head as she watches him, amused.]

Okay. I guess we're starting here.

[She grabs a few books off the shelves and begins flipping through them, putting them back as soon as she discovers writing in them.]

[he was looking for anything-- a pen in one of the drawers is his first lucky find.]

Found a pen.

[... this is what gets grins out of him.

Finding pens.]

[Wow. Maybe she should feel a little put out that his response to a pen is happier than his response to her teasing.]

Great. Now all that's left is the book.

[She resumes her search until she finds a book that's slightly smaller than the ones surrounding it. When Korra flips through the pages, she doesn't see any text at all.]

Hey, I think I found something!

grinning over a pen, and now the book, which he can tell will work based off the size and the lack of writing.]

That'll work.

[he holds out his hand for it]

[She drops the book into his hand, grinning right back. She's just pleased she could help him find what he needed.]

All set to do your cop work now?

[he flips open the cover, and begins ticking off marks on the inside-- up to four.]

Yeah. I was worried I wasn't going to be able to remember everything.

[and then he starts to write, up to day four, everything in his log book. There was a lot to note, after all.]

[She smiles at him, then seems to remember something.]

How long do you think you'll need to write down everything? I can check the houses nearby for supplies if you wanted to keep looking around the library. Then we can head back together.

I don't have that much yet. Give me a minute, and I'll go with you.

Ooookay. If you say so.

[Korra pops herself up onto a desk to wait, feet dangling over the side as she just takes a moment to watch Mako at his work.]

[he's a fast-- if messy- writer. It's part of the profession. When he's satisfied, he closes the book-- and then looks around for a place to stash it.

A non-descript bookshelf would have to do, for now.]

Alright. That's enough for one day.

[Korra hops to her feet.]

You're done already? That was fast. But that should give us plenty of time to check the area.

[browbeater]

[ he nods, and gestures towards the entrance for her]

After you.

[Her smile widens and she props her hands on her hips for a second, recalling a memory from not too long ago--at least for her.]

What a gentleman.

[She walks past him, pushing the library doors open and leading them back into the streets of Haven North.

They've got some exploring to do.]
