[ Okay, so he wasn't actually expecting that, but he isn't going to let that bum him out. So Yosuke picks up the pace, trying to see if he can catch up with Mako! ]
[They never agreed on an end point. All everyone knows is that there are two idiots, sprinting down the walking/running track. Mako is expertly dodging fellow (slower) runners, moms with baby strollers, dog walkers with unruly dogs... The memory is rusty, but it's still there, at least.
He keeps running until he's almost out of steam, conveniently at the mile marker. He slows, and then stops there, placing his hands behind his head to quickly try and catch his breath]
[he stares at his phone for a moment... well, that was oddly charming, akira.]
fine, to your question earlier... idk. before we had a monster invasion, i was working nightshift. which isn't exactly a great time to meet people. and crushes aren't how all relationships start.
[ ARE YOU READY FOR THE LONGEST PREFACE OF YOUR LIFE? ]
you know from moving around a lot, i accepted that nothing lasts forever and i did really think that it wasn't worth investing into the short moments i had with people. they were all merely passing faces that i will never need to remember.
but i learned that's why you should. you'll never know where something will go, when people will disappear, and how long you have with them. crushes may not be how a relationship starts, but what's wrong with chasing it?
